Mikerobenics-Julika Remixes 2018 (BluFin 251.4)
For the finale of the Julika remix series there are four more individual interpretations of the Acid/Trance anthem by Mikerobenics, which was released on Harthouse in 1994. So far, Phunk Investigation & Jean Aita, Kaiser Souzai, Mucho Stylez and Chris Maico Schmidt aka Mike S. have already laid their hands on the classic – to name but a few.
Ponchmann starts this last remix package with the calmest and most atmospheric ‚Julika‘ version to date. His ‚Momos Land Mix‘ is carried by Mellotron-like flute sounds and spherical synths and should make every afterhour crowd fly.
Francesco Riga’s ‚Alternative Remix‘ then accelerates the tempo a bit, but also stays in smooth realms and creates a very well done crossover of house and trance.
Quite close to the infectious energy and the dramatic drive of the original is the ‚Second Coming Mix‘ – no wonder, its creator is no less than Ben Elvis Mettin, at that time besides Chris Maico Schmidt aka Mike S. the second half of Mikerobenics.
And last but not least the last mix comes from Toni Rios – a must after his great album „Facets“ on BluFin in September. With a touch of acid and driving chords, his remix is the most technoid of this quartet and a real final highlight.
Thanks for the beautiful remixes
Ben Elvis Mettin
