Mikerobenics-Julika Remixes 2018 (BluFin 251.1)
Here comes the second remix package of „Julika“, the classic by Mikerobenics from 1994 – originally released on Harthouse and an acid/trance track for eternity.
Mikerobenics were the producers Chris Maico Schmidt aka Mike S. and Ben E. Mettin, and the ‚Comes too late Mix‘ of Julika became a big club hit at the time.
Now after the first remix quartet four more variations: Number one comes from Chris Maico Schmidt alias Mike S. personally – the creator of the play naturally did not miss the opportunity to present his own reinterpretation of his classic. Mike emphasizes the rave character of the track with exciting breakdowns and a massive kick drum, creating a pinpoint primetime burner.
Ponchmann goes the exact opposite way with his Mister TiqTaq Mix. The groove here is discreet, the atmosphere restrained, and the elements of the original were used sparingly – perfect minimal trance with a yearning factor for early morning hours on the beach or in the smoke of the afterhour clubs of this world.
The Leipzig-based Florian Punzel a. k. a. Syno approaches the original in his remix most in terms of mood and charisma, but has also turned down the tempo to today’s preferences like his colleagues and pimped up the sound for it.
Fran&co’s „Better Late Than Never“ remix fills exactly the gap between the interpretations of Ponchmann and Punzel: The Frankfurter transports the feeling of the original adequately into the present, also has a knack for effective minimalism, but also knows when a dramatic break is announced.
Thanks for the beautiful remixes
